Kirk has been instrumental in educating and informing business leaders, architects, attorneys and individuals with disabilities throughout the country of the rights and responsibilities addressed in the ADA. In 1989, Kirk delivered a presentation on behalf of the U.S. Department of Labor to hundreds of business leaders in the southeast emphasizing the importance of technology and the removal of barriers so that people in the disabled community could enter the work force and become productive citizens in the new millennium.
